Growing & Changing

This past week my little girl turned 18 months. That means she is already a year and a half! I can hardly bring myself to believe that this rambunctious toddler was once a 6 pound 10 ounce baby girl. It just absolutely blows my mind!

During the few months that I was away, Lyla changed so much. She started walking, talking, and popping in teeth. Not to mention she developed quite the attitude. LOL! I figured since you all didn't get to experience that change with me, I thought I would show you some of my favorite pictures I have taken of my sweet girl over the last few months so you could see how much she has changed. I hope you enjoy!

Mistakes

Has anyone ever made one? Well I have. I have made some big ones. Life is full of mistakes that you wish you could take back, but the reality is, you can't. As hard as we wish on that shooting star, we cannot, CANNOT take back our mistakes.

Sometimes I really wish I could. I wish so hard that my head hurts. I wish so hard that sometimes I even start to weep. I am sure many of you understand what I am describing. Mistakes are really hard things to overcome, whether they are big or small.

I know many of you may be wondering what the heck I am talking about, and I want to clarify that I am NOT talking about Lyla. Lyla was not a mistake. The act in which created her was, but she was not. Not in any, way, shape or form. I love her with all of my heart, and without her I wouldn't be who I am today.

This brings me to my point: from mistakes bloom wonderful lessons. Lessons in which we can use to better our lives. I know it is really hard to believe that in the midts of your mistake, but it is so true! Through my many, many mistakes I have learned some of life's biggest lessons. So in a demented kind of way, I am glad I made those mistakes, because without those mistakes, I wouldn't have learned the lessons I needed to in order to better my life.

In closing I would like to say this: if anyone has ever made a mistake--big or small--then take a deep, cleansing breath and relax, you are not alone. We all make mistakes and do things we deeply regret, but good things do come from them. So my challenge for you is to think over some of the biggests mistakes that you have made. Think long and hard over them. Did something good come out of it in the long run? If that answer it no, then maybe you just have to wait a bit longer. :)

I would like to leave you a few quotes for you to chew on while to ponder my question. Have a blessed evening all!

"All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes.” Winston Churchill

"I am your God ..... I made you and will care for you; I will give you help and rescue you." Isaiah 46:4

I"f you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down but the staying down." Mary Pickford

I have decided that I would start a new little tradition on my blog since I have been gone for sooo long. Haha! I don't know if anyone has heard of the website called formspring.me, but it is a cool little site where you can ask and recieve questions from others. So every Friday I am going to post a few questions I reveived and my responces to them. If you would like to ask me a question and see it featured on my blog, just click THIS link and ask me anything! [be sure not to make it too personal of I will have to ignore it.]

I hope this is fun for all my readers! Haha!

What did you want to be when you were a little kid? by Ryssnickerboo
Oh my, well, I wanted to be a lot of things. First I wanted to be Vet, then a Cook, then an Artist, finally I wanted to be a nurse. Then I got into photography and I wanted to be a photographer. But now I wanna be a the best darn hairdresser around! LOL! [I still wanna be a photographer :P]

Who's the most beautiful person you know? by Annonymous

Besides my daughter I would have to say my sister, Alexa. She is not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. She has a heart of gold, and has survived through a lot of heartache. I hope to be half as strong and beautiful as she is one day.

Whats your biggest weakness? by Ryssnickerboo
Letting people down. I really hate it. It makes me sick. When I find out that I have let someone down, I become VERY depressed. When I got pregnant my parents were VERY dissapointed in me and felt that I had ruined my life. I died inside when they told me that. It was sooooo hard to overcome it, but we all did. I really really hate letting people down, and I NEVER want to dissapoint anyone as much as I dissapointed my parents that fateful day 2 years ago.

Oh the Perks of Beauty School

So as most of you know by now, I have started attending Beauty School due to the fact that finding a job in this economy is about a 1 in a trillion chance. And so far, I really really love it. We are just finishing up our Skin Care section and then we are moving onto Nails. You see, in our school we learn ALL the trades of the Beauty Industry, so that's pretty rad.

As you can imagine, part of being in Beauty School is being able to experiement with your hair for free. Now, some may think this ISN'T a perk; neither did I, at first. But over the course of the last three days I have been able to undergo a mini-makeover! Nothing to drastic, just a little dye here, and a hair snip there. It is so invigorating! Monday I got my arms waxed for the first time, which was weird but cool, Tuesday our instructor demonstrated how to cut an A-line bob, and I was here lucky model, and yesterday I got my hair dyed! Now, if any of you remember, my hair was still a vigin when I left you all some months back. Well, being in beauty school this is already my 2nd time dying my hair. I don't plan to go crazy with the dying, just some touch-ups of my new, lighter, blonde locks.

So as always, here are a few pictures. I'm sorry they are kinda corny, cliche, teenager-y type photos, but I was in the bathroom at school so I didn't have much to work with.

I'm BAAAAAAAAACK!

And this time, I plan to stay!

Man, I can't even tell you all how much I missed blogging. It was like my only form of release from my crazy life! LOL! I guess you all are probably wondering where in the heck I was for almost 4 months? Well, I won't bore you with the WHOLE story, but I will tell you this: I had a few personal issues that I needed to work out with my family. I also needed to find a way to straiten out my priorities. It was rocky these past 4 months, but once again I have grown.

I started Beauty School on December 7th, and I am loving it! That is probably the biggest change that has happened since I was gone. I really needed to get out and DO something, and since a job was obviously NOT going to happen, I decided to check out the Cosmetology industry. So far everything is going awesome! I have made a few really good friends, and I am learning so many new things.

Lyla has also been growing and changing. She will be a year and a half on Thursday. Can you all believe it!?! When I started this blog, she was only about 1 month old! =O She is now not only walking, but running as well. She is starting to talk too. She can say things like "Hi" "bye-bye" "all done" "wow" "Hi Jeff" [our dog] "thank you" "bless you" and so on and so forth. I really can't believe how much she is growing!

So I realize that this post was kinda scatter-brained, but I was trying to think of everything I wanted to say, but I guess I will just have to update you all along the way. I hope all my readers will come on back to my blog every now and again to catch up. And I promise that you are stuck with me. I am not going ANYWHERE!

Sweet dreams, and God bless!
