Working on the new blog
I am working on my new blog! It is gonna be soooo much better! But I am in kind of a rut. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone who does blog design for free? Yes, I am BEGGING! I used to design my own blogs and junk, but I just don't have time anymore. If anyone knows of someone who does simple blog designs for free, then PLEASE comment. I really only need a header and a blog button. Everything else I can do! Thanks a million! :D

I May Be Moving
So I have been thinking long and hard about my blog lately. I am thinking that I might move it. I really love what I have done here at The Life of a Proud Young Mommy, but I think it is time to move on from it. My life has changed quite a bit over the last year, and I think it is time to start fresh. I know it's not the best idea sometimes to change and/or move a blog, as I will probably lose followers, but I just think it might be for the best.
I have also given a lot of information out on this blog, and sometimes that makes me uneasy. To think that anyone could go on here and read everything about my life and my daughter. And that's MY bad. So I think I have made my decision. I will be working on setting up a new blog sometime by the end of this month. If you are interested in following my new blog, then leave a comment with your blog addy, and I will be sure to send you an invite once I finish creating the new blog.
I love all you bloggy friends very much. Thanks for sticking with me for so long, and I pray that you will continue to stick with me through this new chapter in my life. Have a blessed week. I will hopefully see you around. :)
Love Always,
♥Kylee♥

Too Busy To Blog (Posts Coming Soon)
I'm sorry for the lack of blogging once again. But I have a good reason this time. LOL! Chris is home and I have been spending every single day with him and Lyla, and by the time I hang out with him all day, and then go to school, I am just too beat to even think about posting. I know all of my followers are probably losing faith in me, since I keep disappearing. LOL! But please just stick with me! I will be back, I promise! Love you all!

He Is Home
Chris is finally home you guys! I picked him up from the airport at 2200 (10:00 PM Hehe ) and it was perfect. He called me as soon as he got off the plane, I waited for him right outside Gate C12, and finally, I saw him. There he was, in full dress uniform looking quite snazzy. I ran up to him and he gave me a bear hug! I was so glad to see him! We spend most of the night together. We had an hour and a half drive back to his friends house (where he's staying during his leave) and once we got there we just kicked it (hehe, he is turning me black! LOL!) with his buddy, Billy. It was so amazing! You guys I am honestly falling in love, and not this kind of young puppy love, the kind of I-could-totally-see-myself-marrying-this-dude type of love. He has been my best friend for years, and now he is turning into my love. How much better can it get?
Oh I know! He loves Lyla to death! He actually has a picture of her on his phone! He always tells me "I really wish she was my baby Kylee, because I wouldn't have left you like Matt did. She is a precious gift from God and I love her." Um HALLELUJAH!! Jeez you guys, how did I miss this!? How was it that my perfect man was right under my nose the whole time? Why didn't I ever see it before? I guess it just wasn't God's timing yet, but now it is and I am ecstatic!
So I know this has been a pretty hyper post, but I am just so happy! He is coming over in a few hours to have dinner with my family and ask my Dad's permission to court me. (Yes, he actually said COURT! Haha! He is sooooo cute!) I will update you all on that later, and I will also post some pics of me, Lyla, and him together. Love you all mucho! Have an awesome Sunday! :D

Terminal C
So I am finally at the airport waiting to pick up Chris! I am so excited to see him walk down the terminal in uniform! You guys do not understand how excited I am for him to be home! In T-Minus 50 minutes, my Army man will be home. More updates to follow! :D
The New Immigration Law
I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this new law. I actually don't know much about it, but it does kinda seem to have gone a bit extreme. A lot of my Facebook friends are debating about it. I guess it's supposed to be the strictest immigration law ever passed. It has supposedly sparked TONS of controversy. Here is an excerpt on the new law from the New York Times:
PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration into law on Friday. Its aim is to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants.
The move unleashed immediate protests and reignited the divisive battle over immigration reform nationally.
Even before she signed the bill at an afternoon news conference here, President Obama strongly criticized it.
Speaking at a naturalization ceremony for 24 active-duty service members in the Rose Garden, he called for a federal overhaul of immigration laws, which Congressional leaders signaled they were preparing to take up soon, to avoid “irresponsibility by others.”
The Arizona law, he added, threatened “to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and our communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe.”
The law, which proponents and critics alike said was the broadest and strictest immigration measure in generations, would make the failure to carry immigration documents a crime and give the police broad power to detain anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. Opponents have called it an open invitation for harassment and discrimination against Hispanics regardless of their citizenship status.
You can go HERE to read the rest of the article. So, what are your thoughts on this? Especially those of you who don't live in Arizona. Do you think this is too harsh? Not harsh enough?

Tomorrow Is The Big Day!
Chris is coming home! He is landing in Phoenix at 11AM! I am so freaking excited to see him! We are definitely hanging out, but I don't know exactly what we are doing. LOL! I think he might have a little date planned for me. Hehe! Just a hunch. ;) It doesn't even matter, I just can't wait to spend a little time with him. And I can't wait for him to see Lyla again. She just loves him! Haha! I will update you all tomorrow! Nighty night! Muuah!
New Friend Friday (04-30-2010)

Yes bloggy friends, here is yet ANOTHER thing I am doing in hopes of gaining for followers and bloggy friends. Do I seem a little desperate? LOL!
Anyways, this is just a little something they do over at The Girl Creative, and I thought I would join in. Its a good way to meet new bloggers and visa versa. So this week's theme is your most embarrassing moment.
This one was actually quite hard for me to figure out since I am such a klutz and am CONSTANTLY doing something I consider embarrassing. However, I did remember something that has stayed with me for a while.
On my first day of 5th grade I decided to dress up a little bit. I wanted to make a good impression on all the new kids I was going to meet. I wore this really cute blouse with an adorable skirt. I looked smashing! :) Everything was going fine until our teacher had us all sit on the floor in a little circle. After much squirming and pulling of the garments, I finally got into a comfortable position that wouldn't show the world my downstairs. LOL! Kind of embarrassing, but that's not the half of it. We ended up sitting on the floor for like half and hour. Not even kidding. The whole time I was sitting in the exact same position because if I moved, well, you know what you happen. So finally we finish up with our little activity and its time to go to recess. Well now my legs are asleep. They are literally like Jell-O. I slowly stand up and then I go crashing to the floor. My legs would not move! They honestly just collapsed right under me! So this ensued a frenzy from all the students, and I just wanted to crawl under a rock. It was so traumatizing! But I ended up laughing about it later, and all the kids forgot about it eventually.
So, what's YOUR most embarrassing moment? Share it on your blog and link up with The Girl Creative to make some new friends and read some embarassing stories. :) Happy Friday everyone!

Viva Las Vegas!
So remember that trip to Vegas I mentioned in my previous post? Well, I wanted to share all the pictures from the trip with you! Of course! Haha! Me and my bestie, Tiffany took our very first road trip together last Friday to Sin City, and boy did we have fun! Here are all the random pictures from the drive, the IBS Las Vegas conference, and The Strip. Enjoy! :D

A Time To Remember (Part Four)
Today I am going to find out for sure if I am pregnant. Although I already know I am. Mom, Dad, and Alexa are picking me up after school to go to our local Crisis Pregnancy Center. I am very nervous. School is almost over. It is 3:00. Only five more minutes until I have to face my destiny...again.
The ride over to the CPC went very quickly. I am walking out of the car and heading toward the door. I do not know what to think or what to expect. Mom is opening the door. We walk in. Right foot, left foot. Good now I am in the dreaded room. There is a woman sitting at the front desk. She has a judgmental look on her face. Maybe this was not such a good idea. I stand there with my head down as the woman asks, "how can I help you today?"
"My daughter is pregnant," Mom says with no emotion. The woman looks shocked. I think to myself, "are we in the right place? I thought this lady could help me." The woman tells Mom that she is so sorry that I am with child. Like I am not even here. She says "to bad." Not the best first impression. I thought this would be a place that didn't judge me. I can't help what I did, it is over now. I am going to have a baby no matter how much I don't want to.
The woman is leading us into a back room now. She tells us to wait while she gets one of the counselors. Mom doesn't look to pleased with the lady's rudeness. Dad is just sitting there with a blank stare on his face, much like what I am doing. Alexa is silent while she observes the stark white room. Finally the woman returns with another woman. This woman looks pleasant. She introduces herself as "Judy." This may not be so bad after all.
After the initial introductions, Judy starts to tell me about what they offer here at the CPC. She is telling me about all the videos they have that will teach me what to expect during my pregnancy and beyond. "But first," she says, "we need to make sure you really are pregnant." So there I go walking the distance to the bathroom with a tiny cup in my hand. Do they really want me to pee in this? I do the job, and place the tiny cup into a miniature metal door in the wall. I wash my hands and walk back to the white room.
After what seems like an eternity, in comes Judy. "I bet you are hoping that the test came back negative?" I smile slightly. "Well, I am sorry honey but you are most definitely going to have a baby." I feel the tears stinging at my eyes once again. A feeling I am all to familiar with these days. The rest of the time goes by in a hurry. We talk about adoption and abortion, and how that is not an option for me. If I am going to get rid of this baby, it will be to a family who will love it forever.
We also talk about Matt. "He doesn't know yet, and he is not going to know at this point," Mom answers. I think that is best at this moment. I do not even know what Matt would think if I told him that he was going to be a daddy. No it is better to leave him out of this for now.
Judy is now handing me a bunch of paper to "study." I am to answer all the questions correctly and I will get some Mommy Dollars that I can spend here at their store. It is filled with everything you could ever need or want for a baby. I thank Judy, and promise to return the following week. I make an appointment for Monday.
We are all very pleased with our CPC experience (minus the lady at the front desk). Mom thinks that this will be a wonderful resource during my pregnancy. I am feeling more used to the fact that I am pregnant. Especially now that I know for sure. Now my journey truly begins. There is no turning back now...

15 Minutes of Fame
This past weekend my friend Tiffany and I went to the International Beauty Conference in Las Vegas. One of the reasons I wanted to go was to see my haircutting idol, Nick Arrojo (you may remember him from a little show called What Not to Wear?) On Saturday, Tiffany and I went to his booth at the show to see what sort of products he was selling and what not. I wasn't really expecting him to actually BE at his booth, so when I saw him on top of a round platform cutting someone's hair, I was starstruck! I decided to go up and ask him for a picture (which I wouldn't normally do because I am so darn shy. Hehe) but I did and he was more than happy to take a picture with me.
Once the camera snapped, he ran his fingers through my hair and said "I want to use you for a model tomorrow. Go give you name and number over at the counter." I, of course, was ecstatic! I went to the product counter and jotted down my name and cell number. I was told that I would be receiving a call sometime that night to get all the information. Around 10:30 that night Nick himself calls me! He informs me that I need to meet him at his booth at 9AM sharp to get my hair colored.
So the next day I arrived at his booth at 9AM and they colored me up. My hair color didn't change much, they just fixed up my regrowth (roots) and took me one level blonder. (A level 12 if you wanna get technical. LOL) Once that was all over with, Tiffany and I walked out onto the conference floor to watch his performance on stage. He did a total of three haircuts. It was so fascinating to watch!
Once the show was over, Tiffany and I went back to his area where I got my makeup done and put on the shoes they had me wear. I was wearing flip-flops and that just wouldn't do so they decided to give me these 4 inch Stiletto heals that had to have cost $500! And they hurt like a you-know-what!
So finally at 12:30PM he used me as a model in his haircutting class. He sat me right up there on stage with him. Right in the middle. There were two other girls with me as well, but they were being cut my two of his colleagues (one being his wife Lina.) I felt so honored that he wanted to cut my hair himself! It was so amazing! One of the best hairdressers in the world cut my hair, MINE! Out of all the people there! Wow, God is awesome! So I ended up getting a $700+ hairstyle for free. Not to mention a little taste of fame. LOL! As soon as I stepped off that stage, I was bombarded by people wanting to take my picture! Haha! People were actually coming up to me and asking me which agency I worked for. I was like "Hey I'm just a Cosmetology student! Haha!"
This experience is one that I will never ever forget. It honestly has to be one of the highlights of my life. I'm sorry this was so long, but this was really really exciting for me. It truly was a life-changing experience. So now, for the pictures! Haha!
Okay, I know that's picture overload, but can you blame me? haha! Here are a few better shots of my Nick Arrojo haircut! :D
No More Glasses!
While I was away from you all I was off getting de-nerdified! LOL! Well I'm still a nerd at heart, but not on the outside. LOL! About a month or so ago I decided to try contacts, and I LOVE 'em! They are the best inventions EVER! My whole looked changed, not to mention my confidence level. I don't feel like I am hiding behind those two lenses anymore, I am just out there. I am me. :)
Not So "Single" Anymore
Yes folks, you read it right, I am no longer a "single" mommy. I do have myself a boyfriend, and he is amazing. His name is Chris and he is in the US Army. Just a little background before I get into the whole story. LOL!
Chris was one of the first people I met when I moved to my current location. Him and his family had also just moved here. I was in 6th grade and he was in 7th. We talked a bit, but not much. So my 7th grade year rolls around and I start "dating" this boy from church. Turns out him and Chris were friends so we all three started hanging at school. Chris ended up being one of my best friends, but nothing more. Secretly, deep down, he liked me but never showed it because I was with his friend.
So the summer between my 7th and 8th grade years I moved a bit farther away and had to switch schools. I lost contact with Chris.
Then it was time for high school. There is only one high school in my area so I was able to see all my friends that I had made in middle school, which was totally awesome. :) So the first week of freshman year I see Chris. I had kinda forgotten about him a little bit (I know, bad right? haha) But we ended up reconnecting. We wrote each other little notes and flirted, and all that high school stuff. So finally he asked me out, and I said yes.
We ended up "dating" for about 8 months. He was honestly the best boyfriend I have ever had. He was sweet, and kind, and respectful. He also made me laugh so freaking hard! We just meshed really really well.
Then the trouble started, and his name was Matt. You all know that story pretty well by now, so lets not bring it up again, but in short, I dumped him for Matt. I know, I know, what the H-E-double hockey sticks was I thinking!?!
Anyways, Chris ended up moving after his Sophomore year and I ended up dating Matt. Months went by and he finally called me around Thanksgiving. I didn't give him the time of day because I was so "in love" with Matt.
So now its the summer of '08 and I am HUGELY pregnant, and guess who I run into? Yep, Chris. It was sooooo embarrassing! Here I was huge and pregnant by the guy I dumped him for. My face must have been so red. But instead of criticizing me with "I told you so's" he was very understanding and supportive, and our friendship rekindled. He ended up moving back here and going back to school at our high school. At that time I was doing homeschooling because Lyla was on her way.
So as I am going through my Junior year at home, he is in his Senior year at Wick High. Him and my sister become good friends and she tells me every single day how much Chris is in love with me and that I should get back with him. At that point I was convinced that no one could possibly love me since I was a huge preggo lady.
Months pass and Lyla is born. My life has changed so much, but I am happy. October rolls around and Alexa convinces me to go to the Homecoming dance. I agree to go. Guess who was also there? Yeppers, my good friend Chris. We end up hanging out the whole night. It was awesome! He never left my side!
More months pass and around January, Chris asks me out on a "date." We ended up going to this little place for ice cream and then we just drive around. While driving he grabs my hand, and I don't let go. There was a little spark, but nothing much came out of it. I went home to take care of Lyla and he went back to school.
So now its graduation and he is leaving for Basic Training for the US Army. I hang out with him as a friend and say goodbye. More months pass with no contact (since you can't have phones in Basic) and I don't pay him much thought.
Then one day about a month ago he texts me. Once he was out of Basic he texted me sometimes, but this one was different. He said "remember back in high school when we dated and we used to call each other ever day even though we saw each other at school all day?" I replied with "Yes." And he said "Those were the good days."
For some reason that little convo sparked our feelings again. He confessed that he has never been able to find a girl as amazing as me. He said that I was one of a kind. He wanted to know if I wanted to try this again. I thought about it for a while, and realized that I had never stopped having feelings for him, they were just hidden away under all the other things I was going through. I decided to give it a try.
So here we are a month later. Right now he is stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky so this is long distance right now, which is actually going really well. We text all day and talk all night. Hehe. He loves me for me, and he loves Lyla just as much. He is willing to do anything for me. I really love him you guys. I really really do. It just feels right. He will be home for 2 weeks of leave in three days, and I can hardly wait!
But there is a bitter side to every sweet one. On June 13th he is leaving for Afghanistan. Yeah, sucks. :( But I am willing to stick through this with him. I believe that if we can get through this very hard year ahead, then maybe there really is something there. I am not trying to jump the gun, but I can honestly say I could see myself marrying Chris. I really could. He is an amazing man.
Sorry this was so long, but I really wanted to share Chris with you all. He is a part of mine and Lyla's life now, and hopefully will be for years to come. I will keep you updated on this whole journey, but right now who wants to jump up and down in joy with me?!?! LOL!
Anyways, here are a few pictures of my Army man. Pictures of us together will be coming as soon as he gets home. Oh, and did I mention that he's black? Hehe! Love you all! Muuuuah!

I also just wanted to add this. I want to show you how sweet he is by show you what our average text conversations sound like. LOL! Enjoy!
Chris: Babe I kno your asleep but txt me in the morning when you wake up. I love you ;) Muuuuah
Me: Good morning darling :)
Chris: Tired we only got two hours of sleep then had to wake up and run. I am sorry I didn't call you but when I got back I knew there was no way you were still wake.
Me: Aww, I'm sorry babe. That's no bueno :(
Chris: Yeah. Guess what?
Me: What?
Chris: I have to get shots today :( I hate shots
Me: :( That sucks. Why do you have to get them?
Chris: To go over seas.
Me: Oh yeah that makes sence.
Chris: Yeah and the Army sucks at giving shots. They just make us walk down a line and stab us in the arm a million times.
Me: I'm sorry :( *kisses* Hey, I'm gonna send you a picture real quick.
Chris: Ok
Me: *sent him a picture of my new hair (post coming soon. Hehe)
Chris: It looks so good!
Me: Really? I thought you might not like it cuz it's really short. LOL
Chris: You look beautiful no matter what.
Me: Aww, thanks darling. I was worried cuz I thought most guys liked longer hair.
Chris: you are amazing and your looks are a plus
Me: Thanks babe. You are the bestest!
Chris: No babe, you are. I love you so much.
Me: I love you too darling. :)

Honest Scrap Award
Hello everyone! I am back for a bit! Sorry I have been MIA recently. Lots of stuff going on in this crazy life of mine. I will update soon, I promise. :)
But for now, I shall just share with you an award I got the other day. (Marianne, your ploy worked ;) Miss Marianne over at The Diary of a Fickle White Woman presented me with the Honest Scrap award. I have already gotten this award one from Louise at Adori Graphics, but I shall post it again cause I'm cool like that. :P So here we go. !0 facts you didn't know about me. :)
1.) I really like to be alone. I am what people would call a "loner." Don't get me wrong, I love people too, but I need at least an hour to myself every day or I will go crazy!
2.) I recently just met Nick Arrojo (from What Not to Wear) I went to a Beauty Show in Las Vegas this past weekend and I met him, and I actually modeled for him. (post coming soon. hehe)
3.) I FINALLY have a best friend. Sure, I have had friends before, but none quite like my BBF Tiffany. I met her when I started beauty school, and now we are inseparable! I love her very mucho! :)
4.) I have always secretly wanted to be a model. I know it sounds silly and cliche, but it is a secret dream of mine.
5.) I really really really really really want a Blackberry.
6.) I don't like going outside much because I am afraid I will get a tan, and I don't like tans. I think pale skin is much more attractive. Hehe
7.) I cannot wait to get married one day and have another baby with the man I love. I just really want to share that experience with the man of my dreams.
8.) I could eat Top Ramen for every single meal.
9.) I have just recently started working out every day, and I feel AMAZING!
10.) And finally.....I HAVE A BOYFRIEND! His name is Christopher and I love him very much. (post coming sooooooon!)
So there you have it. 10 random confession from my scattered little brain. Hehe!

Friend Makin' Monday
Happy FMM everyone! I look forward to making some new bloggy friends! :D
1. Favorite things about Spring: All the animals finally come out after a long cold winter. I just love seeing all the baby buddies, all the birds, and, where I live, lots of newborn horses. :)
2. What I'm doing for Spring Break: Well I don't get much of a Spring Break, but I am going to San Diego for a nice three day weekend getaway! Whoot!
3. Favorite Spring flower: Daffodils! They are amazing!
4. Do you have a garden? Our whole front and back yards are gardens! We have TONS of flowers, trees, and fruit bushes. :)
5. If so, what do you grow? Strawberries, Peaches, Apricots, Plumbs, Apples, Nectarines, Kumquats, Oranges, and Ruby Red Grapefruit.
6. Do you do Spring cleaning? I clean pretty much everyday so our house doesn't need much cleaning. My mom does do a bit of heavier cleaning during the spring though.
7. What is your weather *really* like right now? Right now the weather is amazing! It is about 75 here today, clear, and sunny. :)
8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us!
9. What's your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon? Head outside with Lyla in tow and play in the grass. I also love to snap pictures of her playing because the sun makes for some great shots!
10. Favorite TV show right now? [H]ouse M.D. and The Secret Life of the American Teenager
