A GLIMPSE INTO MY LIFE

Last night was amazing. Plain and simple. Wednesday is our weekly Bible Study for the youth. Us high school girls have been studying an amazing book titled Lies Young Women Believe: and the Truth that Sets Them Free. If you have teenage girls, I would HIGHLY recommend this book as a gift for them. It is the most helpful book I have ever read. :) It tackles all of the most common lies that us young women always fall for.

Anyways, enough rambling. :P So, we had just read the chapter titled "Lies About Guys." I agreed to share my story with the group. Yesterday was the day! I was soooooo nervous all day! But I did it. I shared my pregnancy story with all of the Sr. High boys and girls. It was an extremely healing time for me and my family. Almost two years ago this coming January, my family and I found out I was pregnant. From that day on, life was never the same. But God used Lyla in sooo many wonderful ways, and has brought us all closer together as a family. I am so blessed to have been able to share the most difficult two years of my life with my peers. It not only gave them a better idea of what I went through, but also it showed them how easy it is to give up your purity.

I pray constantly that my story will touch those who hear it. I want to share my story with the world. Not because I want to puff myself up, but because I want to spread the awareness about teenage pregnancy, abusive relationships, and abstinence. My story is hard for me to share. So many things still hurt to this day, but I am so glad that God gave me the strength to share it, and to reach into other's hearts.

Tomorrow marks my daughter's first birthday. Wow. Already it has been a year since we met. I am sitting here crying as I type. Lyla has saved my life. She is my angel sent by God. She brightens even my darkest day. Even though my life was at an all-time-low when I found out I was expecting, I cannot imagine my life without my little miracle that is sleeping peacefully in her crib. She changed my life, and no matter what happens from this day forward, I know it will always be me and her. Forever and always.
