Once our lecture was concluded and out brake time up, we all had to perform shampoos on one another. That didn't happen. It turns out, the heavy winter clouds decided they wanted to drop massive amounts of snow. It would have been beautiful any other time, but I just kept thinking to myself that I had to find some way to drive down the mountain in that. The thought pretty much made we want to hyperventalate!
I called my mom and she told me that I should be fine, but she wanted me to leave school early. I was fine with that. So I mosey on outside only to find about 5 inches of snow covering the ground--AND MY CAR! So once I assess the situation, I decide the first thing I need to do is get the snow off the windows so I can see. Once that step in done, I get on in the freezing car and start the engine. After I am satisfied that I car is warm enough, I head on out.
Immedietly my little 2002 Honda starts sliding across the road. I think to myself "How in the heck am I ever going to make it down the mountain!?!" I ponder this for a second and decide that I just need to get home.
I didn't end up getting home. I turned around about 2 miles down the road. I just couldn't do it. The ice, mixed with the snow on the ground was causing a massive sized ice rink in which my tires were the ice skates! I was ALL over the road! So I drove very carefully back to the school and waited.
My sister and brother-in-law ended up taking me to there house for the night [they live about 45 mins north of the school] so that was really awesome. I had to stay the night at their house, and leave my precious car in the school parking lot overnight, but it was either that or die on the way home. I choose life.
So I finally made it home around 9o'clock this morning, and I practically kissed the ground! I cannot tell you how freaked out I was last night! I am from the city, I have hardly ever seen snow, much less driven in it! I mean this was like a blizzard for Arizona!
Anyways, I am just thankful the God delieved me home to my baby girl safe and sound. She ran up and gave me a HUGE hug as if to say "Mommy! I am so glad you are home safe!" It was the perfect end to a not-so-pefect ordeal.
Here's what I was faced with last night:

holy crap I didn't even know it was possible for it to snow in Arizona. Thats crazy!
ReplyDeleteHaha I have to admit.. it was kind of fun though. If only we didn't have to be home, had warmer clothes, and it wasn't so late. I would have been chucking snow balls at you xD
